A 16 year old girl of Chinese origin presented with a 1 year history of an asymptomatic slowly enlarging lesion on the right upper thigh. There was no previous history of skin disease in the patient or any of the family members. She was otherwise well and was under no regular medications. The patient denied any trauma or discharge from this area. On examination, there was a solitary, asymmetrical, poorly defined, indurated brown plaque on the medial aspect of the right upper thigh measuring 22 x 26mm agross. No pigmentary network was apparent on dermoscopy, and no similar lesions were noted elsewhere. An incisional biopsy was performed for histopathologic evaluation.
