NEW RESOURCE: NHS Knowledge and Library Hub
Published Date: 10th January 2022
Healthcare evidence and knowledge is now a simple search away.
As NHS professionals you make a multitude of health and care decisions every single day. The challenge of ensuring these decisions are based on the latest evidence and research is being met head-on with the arrival of a brand-new online search tool.
Health Education England (HEE) has introduced the new NHS Knowledge and Library Hub as a ‘one-stop’ gateway which connects NHS staff and learners seamlessly to a wide range of free, high-quality knowledge and evidence resources all in one place.
Wherever you work in the NHS the Hub will look almost the same but each Trust has tailored it to ensure that, when you log in with your NHS Athens Account, you will get access to all locally-funded resources as well as the national collection of resources.
The Knowledge and Library Hub helps you to search and access:
- Over 7,000 journals
- E-books including Oxford handbooks
- Access to full text articles or to request a copy
- Clinical decision support tools including BMJ Best Practice and UpToDate
- NICE pathways and guidelines
- Databases like Medline, EMBASE and CINAHL
- ClinicalKey collections
Whether searching for published knowledge and evidence for patient care, management decision-making, education, research, or just professional curiosity, the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub is a great starting point for every search, ensuring you can be confident that the care you deliver and decisions you make are based on the most up-to-date information possible.
Located on the front page of our website start your search or learn more through our NHS Knowledge and Library Hub pages which contain short user guides.
For those needing more in-depth searching of medical databases, such as Medline, Embase and CINAHL we still offer our Evidence search service, where we search the databases on your behalf and email the results to your inbox or our Assisted search service where we will teach you how to search the databases for yourself
